Borbon Sidra (or just Sidra) is a variety with unknown genetic origins. Through genetic testing we can trace it back to Ethiopian heirloom varieties, with traces of different varieties native to the East African country.

Sidra plants have distinctively thicker trunks and cherries that grow densely together, with elongated beans similar to those of Gesha, the "Goddess of the Coffees".
